Poker Rooms In Billings, MT

Here's a short list of poker rooms located in Billings, MT

If you're looking for limit holdem here's some placed to check out.

The most consistent limit holdem game is the 3-6 limit holdem game located at the Crystal Lounge in downtown Billings. This game starts at 10am daily and generally goes until about 2am which is closing time for every establishment selling alcohol in the city of Billings, maybe even Yellowstone county I'm not sure.

The next one would be the $10-$20 game located at Montana Chads, there's also usually a 2-10 spread limit game there as well. They open up at around 6pm.

After that there's the Gold Dust which has a daily 2-6 spread limit game & sometimes a no limit game as well.

No limit games.

The Gold Dust generally has a rocking NL game going on Friday & Saturday nights.

The Jackpot Nevada has a NL game every single night of the week.

The Main Event Card Room located at Bugz's Up in the Billings Heights generally have a really good NL holdem game on a regular basis as well.

How to become a poker dealer in Montana

If you have ever played poker in Montana and thought that dealing poker might be something that interests you then there's a few things you need to do.

Get a dealers license which you can find just about anywhere in the state of Montana that has driver exams. After you get the application you need to fill it out and also get finger printed and also make sure when you are filling it out that you follow all of the directions or it can cause a delay or even an investigation by the gambling control division which will delay you getting your Montana poker dealers license.

After you've gotten your license back you are going to most likely need to be trained, which generally isn't that difficult if you're willing to put in the time. Just like any other skilled trade it takes some time to get good at dealing poker. If you can find an establishment that will train you that's great if not generally if you ask another poker dealer to help you out many times you'd be surprised at how willing they are to help.

After you've learned how to deal the next step is finding a job. A great way to get started is to inquire about dealing poker tournaments. Many times establishments need extra dealers to deal their poker tournaments and it's also a great way to show off your skills and possibly get offered a job. If you do good it's very likely that you will be called anytime they need additional dealers to fill in when people are sick, need a day off or to deal another tournament. It's simply a matter of getting your foot in the door.

Shitty Law

The state of Montana has a law that states that no poker game can have any pots exceeding $300. Yet allows gaming machines to give out jackpots of up to $800. Since when should someone put a limit on how much someone could win? I've read that when some have question why these laws are in place it's to protect players from gambling too much? But I do not see how capping the amount that someone could win would ever protect them against gambling more than they can afford to and also how the state thinks that they would know how to regulate something like that.

Poker In Montana

Poker in Montana is unique with pots not being allowed to reach over $300 by state law there isn't much of a demand for anything above 10-20 limit holdem. However there are many spread limit games, one of the most common limits you'll find throughout the state is 2-6 spread limit many times accompanied with overs buttons. Overs buttons allow players that each have an overs button to increase the limit of the game when it is only the players with the overs buttons in the pot. The most common overs found are NL overs and usually an overs that doubles the current limit of the poker game.
