Shitty Law
The state of Montana has a law that states that no poker game can have any pots exceeding $300. Yet allows gaming machines to give out jackpots of up to $800. Since when should someone put a limit on how much someone could win? I've read that when some have question why these laws are in place it's to protect players from gambling too much? But I do not see how capping the amount that someone could win would ever protect them against gambling more than they can afford to and also how the state thinks that they would know how to regulate something like that.

I also used to hate this law but after living in Vegas for two years I now love the "training wheels" for two reasons. 1st most of the 1-2 no limit games in Montana have much bigger pots, and way more action than a Vegas 1-2 game. 2nd I have the poker disease bad, I would love nothing more than playing poker every night, because of the pot limit this is possible, most Montanans would run through their bank roll pretty fast with even an $800 pot cap. It also makes Montana poker players fearless, this I believe is partially due to the 300 pot cap.
